宮城県にも春がやってきました！

白石川堤一目千本桜は、大河原町を流れる白石川堤に約8km続く桜の名所である。樹齢80年余りを含む、ソメイヨシノなどの桜が約1,200本咲き誇る。毎年、開花時期に合わせて「おおがわら桜まつり」が開催され、人力車や屋形船に乗って、春の訪れを感じることもできるイベントだ。雪が残る蔵王連峰との風情あふれる景色が優美で、ライトアップされた夜桜の幻想的な光景もまた格別である。

Shiraishigawa-tsutsumi-Ichimi-Senbonzakura is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot that stretches about 8 km along the Shiraishigawa-tsutsumi-which flows through the town of Ogawara. About 1,200 cherry trees, including someiyoshino cherry trees that are more than 80 years old, are in full bloom. Every year, the “Oogawara Cherry Blossom Festival” is held in conjunction with the blooming season, and visitors can feel the arrival of spring by riding in a rickshaw or on a houseboat. The elegant view of the snow-covered peaks of the Zao mountain range and the fantastic sight of the cherry blossoms lit up at night is also very special.
