「御室桜」は、淡いピンク色の花を咲かせるサトザクラの一種で、特徴的なのは土壌の影響で根が深くまで伸びず、木の高さが2メートルほどにとどまることです。また、遅咲きの桜としても知られ、例年春になると見事な花を咲かせて満開を迎えます。
訪れる人々は、晴れ渡った空の下で仁和寺の境内を散策し、満開の桜を眺めながら写真を撮ったり、その香りを楽しんだりしています。さらに、去年よりも増設された高さ1メートル余りの観覧台からは、「御室桜」を一望できる絶景が訪れる人々を魅了しています。
仁和寺へのアクセスは、京都市内から比較的簡単に行くことができます。
まず、京都駅から仁和寺までのアクセス方法ですが、以下の方法があります。
市バスを利用する方法: 京都駅から市バス28番または91番に乗り、「仁和寺道」バス停で下車します。仁和寺へは徒歩で約10分程度です。
電車を利用する方法: 京都駅からJR嵯峨野線に乗り換え、「仁和寺駅」で下車します。仁和寺からは徒歩で約15分程度です。
タクシーを利用する方法: 京都駅からタクシーで直接仁和寺へ向かうことも可能です。距離にもよりますが、おおよそ20〜30分程度で到着します。

Ninna-ji Temple is a historic temple located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, where cherry trees known as “Omuro-zakura” were planted in the Edo period (1603-1868), and today, more than 200 cherry trees bloom beautifully every year. These cherry trees are designated as a national place of scenic beauty and attract visitors to Ninna-ji Temple.
The Omuro-zakura is a type of cherry tree with pale pink blossoms, and is unique in that its roots do not grow deep due to the soil, and the trees remain at a height of about 2 meters. It is also known as a late-blooming cherry tree, and usually comes into full bloom in spring with magnificent blossoms.
Visitors stroll the grounds of Ninna-ji Temple under clear skies, taking pictures and enjoying the fragrance of the cherry blossoms in full bloom. In addition, visitors are attracted by the spectacular view of the Omuro-zakura from the 1-meter-high viewing platform, which was added last year.
Access to Ninna-ji Temple is relatively easy from Kyoto City.
First, there are the following access methods from Kyoto Station to Ninna-ji Temple.
By city bus: Take city bus No. 28 or 91 from Kyoto Station and get off at the Ninna-ji-michi stop. It is about a 10-minute walk to Ninna-ji Temple.
By train: From Kyoto Station, transfer to the JR Sagano Line and get off at Ninna-ji Station. It is about a 15-minute walk from Ninna-ji Temple.
By Taxi: You can also take a cab from Kyoto Station directly to Ninna-ji Temple. Depending on the distance, it will take approximately 20-30 minutes.
